About the photo

Using an old box style camera he found in his father's junkyard shop, John took the original picture in his early teen years... 1934. The original idea came to him one day after opening the newspaper and viewing an image of a lightning bolt striking the Empire State building.

Here is a clipping from the newspaper article that John had saved representing the article he had originally seen as a young boy.

Finding the image of Jesus

Outlined in the image to the left, you can distinctly see an outline of what appears to be a man with a full beard wearing a white robe and holding up his thumb, index and middle finger as if he were blessing someone

Below you can see a picturre of the negative that is still in possession by his immediate family.

This photo has been in articles and postings around the world to include the Farmer's Almanac, church brochures, a newspaper in London and even a mural on the side of a church located in Scotland, England.
